A stunning prize awaits the truly adventurous hiker who makes the trek to one of Unicoi County’s majestic waterfalls. The glorious view of these cascading natural wonders is well worth the trip for the careful and conscientious hiker. Located in the Limestone Cove Community, Red Fork Falls is approximately 80 feet in height and is one of the most scenic falls in the area. Upper and lower Rock Creek Falls are 40 feet in height, and are located in the Rock Creek Recreation Area. Located in the southern part of the county, Spivey Falls is on private property, but makes for beautiful pictures from the nearby parking area.
Red Fork Falls:
I-26 to Exit #32 towards the Town of Unicoi. Go .08 miles to TN-107. Turn left, go 7.6 miles, turn right on Unaka Mtn Rd. Continue .7 mile to gravel road. Path to falls is 100 ft ahead.
I-26 to Exit #43 (Temple Hill Rd). Go south on US19W for 1.1 miles. Turn left, stay on 19W for 3 miles to unmarked paved road on right. Take narrow road to falls.
Upper Rock Creek Falls:
1-26 to Exit #36 (Main Street, Erwin). At light turn right, go .2 mile, then right on Rock Creek Rd. Continue 3.1 miles to Rock Creek Park. Take camping loop C to trailhead.
Rocky Fork Falls:
I-26 to Exit #50 (Flag Pond). At stop sign turn left on Higgins Creek Rd. Drive .5 mile to TN-23, turn right and travel 2.25 miles to Flag Pond. Turn left onto Rocky Fork Rd. Park and follow the gravel line on foot into Rocky Fork. Falls are .25 mile on left.
